Adrian Bozman and Todd Widman are two of CrossFit’s top trainers. They spend a significant portion of their time traveling around the country working the CrossFit Level 1 and Level 2 certification seminars.
In this episode, we catch them in a visit to CrossFit Flood, where they do two private training sessions and one group class. This Part 1 focuses on Todd’s training of Don Brick. Don was struggling with the kipping pull-up. Todd takes him through a progression that gets Don doing a standard kip. Then, they put the new pull-up to the test in Fran, where Don sets a new PR. 10min 33sec

I'm greatfull for all the great teaching here. I've been a trainer for years and I've gotten more just from the Crossfit Journal in the last couple weeks than from years of "continuing ed." through NASM or ACE or any other certifications out there.
Thank you!

Great video guys. The progression was bang on so I have forwarded it on to a couple of our clients who are almost there on their kipping pullups. This will be a big help - thanks guys.
I haven't had a chance to meet Boz yet but had the benefit of learning from Todd at the Level 1 Cert in Maine back in June where he gave a great talk on "virtuousity".
Looking forward to the next video.

Watching this video from Iraq, it's awesome to see a great American like Todd Whidman imparting his knowledge to the masses. Having had the pleasure of being introduced to Crossfit by him, I'm not surprised he has become one of the top Crossfit instructors in the country.

Best step-by-step explanation of how to get a kipping pull up I've seen. Most other vids have just been of how to do the final product (which is great), but I feel like I could now easily explain to someone how to get to that point... Excellent work!!!

I must have seen and re-viewed all the vids and articles on the kip but when it was all together with the progression like in this vid it totally concreted things and created a better blueprint for me! I can't wait for more Boz & Todd.

I have always been intimidated by the kip - especially since I can't do a dead hang pullup yet. However, watching the vid, I found that I can practice the kip using a 24# box and a jumping pull up. I started doing these this week and it's working great so far. Thanks for posting the vid and breaking it down so neatly and simply.
