I just spent three nights in San Francisco on business, and I happened to be staying in a hotel four blocks from LaLanne Fitness. I was in the middle of a pretty serious snatch training cycle. When I inquired about the posibility of snatching at their gym I was told, essentially, that there was no chance in hell. When I asked if they new any facility in the area they told me (and I kid-you-not) that if I went to 24 hour fitness they would probably let me snatch if I could do it without dropping the weights.

Thanks LaLanne. Thanks a whole lot.

I have a hard time believing that any CF gym would not allow the snatch. What I CAN believe is that if some guy walks in off the street and they don't know him from Adam and wants to do heavy snatches without having been screened, they would be crazy to say "go ahead"! Maybe I'm totally off base on this, but I'd love to hear their side of the story.
I mean, most CF gyms have a mandatory screening before they'll let you do ANYTHING, let alone the most explosive lift in the world.
