Gillian Mounsey finished 3rd overall in the 2008 CrossFit Games. She had been training CrossFit specifically for only 12 weeks. But, as we find out in this profile from Again Faster, she has been training hard for about 16 years.

In this second of three parts, Gillian talks about her first CrossFit workouts, and her experience at the Games. Coming in third was probably the best thing that could have happened to her. She is incredibly motivated to compete this year.

She is currently a trainer at CrossFit South Brooklyn, and one of the favorites going into the 2009 CrossFit Games.

Wow, that hopper deck product placement in the beggining of the vid was PRETTY blatant, Tony. More discreet next time, please?

dude, that was a 3 second clip of the cards, who cares.

CrossFit gives away a crap ton of FREE stuff, this journal is only $ 25 a year, let them show a 3 second clip of the cards.

The video was great and so is this journal, that's what counts

I am new to Crossfit. Just wondering, do they test competitors for steroid use?

Ryan, I'm sure you're kidding, but in case anyone else takes you seriously, I'm going to respond.

1. I didn't make the video, nor have anything to do with making the video. It was all the CrossFit Again Faster crew (http://www.againfaster.com/).
2. The Hopper Deck (which you've now done a better job of advertising than the video did, and which can be purchased here http://hopperdeck.com/) is produced and sold by John Brown (hopefully a relation of yours) at CrossFit Agoge http://crossfitagoge.com/. CrossFit Inc. gets no revenue from the Hopper Deck. John is a good CrossFitter, a solid affiliate, and a great American, and I hope he makes millions through his various ventures. If he does, my only profit will be the satisfaction of knowing about his success.
3. The Hopper Deck is a great tool for CrossFitters and in the video, they were looking through the Deck of their own accord, just as I do with mine when I'm looking for ideas.
4. Even if that was a product placement, which it wasn't, it was done tastefully.

what the??? really if people need to used Performance Enhancers, they are only cheating themselves. Though the prizes are awesome at the games, weights, bars etc for more training, to get on the juice to beat everyone, you'd spend more on buying the juice than what you'd get back.

if you didn't know what a hopper deck was you'd be certainly trying to work out what that deck of cards they had was.....
watch the video again, they were talking about the workouts they have done from the Hopper Deck, you should be more critical of blatent product placement of the Coke machine when they are walking down the stairs from the train.

I agree 100%. I am not trying to start any controversy just asking a simple question...are competitors tested?

I played college ball in the 70's, worked out in body building gyms, etc. I have personal friend who were on the juice and it was never about the money as in professional sports today. So yeah what the ????. If walks like a duck, talks like a duck....its a duck.

Wow! I am amazed at the postings I just read..... way i see it crossfit, which is FREE, is a great way to find out about yourself. Hopefully what you find there will be more important than what others do on their journey. If yo don't like what you see in the journal then don't buy it... gives you more time to improve yourself....great video guys keep it up!
