The "Diesel" rocked that interview. Very inspiring. Very funny. I had a tech glitch that prevented me from capturing the rec. We'll get her back on when she opens her affiliate - if she'll have us. Many apologies.

As for "What is crossfit?" I don't know if I agree strictly speaking with defining it as anything like a community. Someone could practice the fitness methodology without being part of the community. What distinguishes it from other fitness methodologies is that it identifies the goal of exercise as increased performance. The goal isn't to have a six pack and large biceps, or to lose weight, or to add five weeks onto one's life. The goal is to be fit.
It should be easy to sell this goal to anyone who wants to live a thriving, flourishing life.

What is CrossFit?
Listening to one of Coaches recent lectures, he used the term "Turning fitness into sport."
Ding! Ding! Ding! That makes a great tagline.
Crossfit is "fitness as sport."
