The 16th episode of CrossFit Radio Weekend aired live at 6:00 p.m. PDT on Saturday, June 6th, 2009.

This special edition of the program featured a look at CrossFit around the world, as seen through the eyes of CrossFit trainers and affiliate owners in Denmark, Australia and Northern Ireland. Dave discovered the CrossFit story is much the same everywhere: explosive growth fueled by passionate people who have drunk the koolaid. No matter what the language, burpies still suck. And nowhere do landlords understand why CrossFit workouts are so noisy.

00:00 - 17:34 A trainer with the very Danish name of Thor Larsen talked about how CrossFit Copenhagen has grown to 550 members. The affiliate operates out of a small space in a former church. It is trying to raise funds to send eight athletes to the CrossFit Games next month.

17:34 - 36:12 Matt Swift, owner of CrossFit Brisbane told the story of CrossFit in Australia. Matt’s website boasts: “We have chalk, we make noise, we know everyone by name, we sweat, we swear, we laugh and we train hard. It is a great place to be a part of.”

36:12 - 52:33 Jonny Smyth of Northern Ireland CrossFit outside Belfast talked about the birth and growth of his affiliate.

Nice interview Matt. Well done.
Good to hear you say CF is for everyone. It's so true but getting the word out is sometimes difficult.

Thanks for having us, CrossFit Copenhagen, on the show, Dave! Here's a direct link to CrossFit Copenhagen's site on the CrossFit Games:

Any support is greatly appreciated!

Well done Jonny Smyth and the gang at Crossfit Northern Ireland. I'm from Bangor and discovered Crossfit about 6 or 7 months ago. Since then it has become an important part of my life (despite the fact that the WOD's are still kickin' my ass most days!).

Great to hear that things are going well; the new website looks great, and you've even got the mighty Coach B coming over for the Olympic Lifting Cert in the summer!

Keep spreading the word guys and best wishes.

Listed to this on last night, and really enjoyed the show. Well done Dave for lining the international coaches up - a nice logistical exercise.

Nice to hear an Aussie accent on the show too. Well spoken Matt, good representation of the Aussie scene (I'm in a semi-rural are outside Canberra, Xfit out of my garage) - thank goodness for internet!
