Today is the official start to the Regional Qualifiers (semi-final round) for the CrossFit Games. The global community now focuses in on the 13 regional events around the world, and the top athletes from each will get to compete in Los Angeles from July 16 to 18.
At a recent cert in California, Sevan Matossian caught up with HQ trainers and past Games athletes Pat Sherwood, Miranda Oldroyd and Pat Barber, who offered their thoughts on competitions past and upcoming.
Oldroyd explains why she wants to compete in the 2010 Games, while Barber outlines why it’s going to be so difficult to qualify this year. Sherwood offers up his dry sense of humor, as well as some insight into potential dark-horse competitors and the impending Mikko Salo-Jason Khalipa showdown.

It doesn't matter if the HQ trainers compete or not, I still think they are awesome. They are HQ trainers not just because of their Physical capabilities, but because of their overall attitude as a human being. You guys are someone to look up to. Very Inspirational.
I've had a chance to meet Pat Sherwood several times in Toronto and he's always cheerful and happy to give his time to everyone.
