The fittest woman on earth eats rice?
Believe it, CrossFitter.
In this interview shot in the athletes’ warm-up area during the 2010 CrossFit Games, soon-to-be champion Kristan Clever talks about being an “iron rat,” eating for performance, and her support network. That network grew by leaps and bounds during the Games as more and more fans jumped behind the amazing athlete from Valley CrossFit.
“Now I don’t want to let everybody down,” she said.
And she didn’t.

What is up with her? And I mean that in a good way. She seems so calm before and after a workout. How does she do that? Shes amazing, physically and mentally. She made the 2010 workouts look like a walk in the park. Congrats Kristen. Well deserved win.

This is actually Theresa (not Mark).
I had the pleasure of meeting Kristan at our Level 1 cert about 3 years ago. Kristin was like a kid in a candy store for the entire cert - bouncing on & off the pull-up bars, eyeing the rings and ropes & just itchin' to get on 'em, and drooling over the medicine balls - just waiting for the opportunity to pick one up and GO! I also was teammed up with her during the Fight Gone Bad WOD we did - her wall balls were fast and perfect, her box jumps were amazingly fast and furious, as were the push presses and SDLHP (what about the rower you ask? Certainly not bad by any means but that was the one exercise I knew I had a very slight edge ;). I remember thinking "Holy Crap! No way I can keep up with that." It was intimidating yet exciting to watch her go. And when it was my turn to do the WOD she was incredibly encouraging.
It has been fun watching her progress over the last 2 years during her performances at the Games and the incredible accomplishments she's made. Congrats Kristan and wishing you continued success!! (from the 'old lady' at the cert.)
