“I’m just so happy I don’t have to pick shit up and put it over my head this week,” masters competitor Ron said before doing Workout 11.2.
Ron and fellow competitors Yosh, Jason and Pat return in this series where they offer their thoughts on each workout in the CrossFit Games Open.
This time around, the athletes were tackling 15 minutes of 9 deadlifts, 12 push-ups and 15 box jumps—a longer met-con where fit athletes could really rack up the reps.
In true video-confessional fashion, the athletes speak to their cameras, explaining why the workouts went well or why they weren’t quite satisfied with the results.
For Pat, performance is important. A good workout elevates him, while a poor showing drags him down until he can redeem himself in another workout.
“At the end of the day, it’s not life and death, but it consumes you. It consumes me,” he says, echoing the thoughts of athletes all over the world.
For some athletes, things went very well, and for others, weaknesses were revealed. All four will be back on camera after dancing with Workout 11.3.
