Continuing their quest for the top ranks in the 2011 CrossFit Games Open, Jessica Pamanian and Tom Rowland take on Workout 11.2.

In Part 2 of this series, the fourth-place finisher at the 2010 CrossFit Games and the CrossFitting host of the TV show Saltwater Experience tackle the deadlift/push-up/box-jump workout at BTB CrossFit Buckhead in Atlanta, Ga.

Both athletes were disappointed with their Week 1 performances, but today they’re geared up and ready to take on 11.2. This will be a second try for Pamanian and Rowland, and both are looking to gain ground on their last scores.

“That was tough,” Rowland says after finishing. He isn’t happy that he ate before his workout. “I never eat before, and I ate this morning, and I felt it. I felt it the whole time.”

He finished with 12 rounds plus 1 deadlift.

Pamanian’s post-workout reaction was one of anguish.

“I would have loved to just keep going—no stop, you know what I mean?—and not taken any rest, but there’s only so fast you can go on those anyway as it is. But rest killed me,” she says.

Pamanian finished with 11 rounds, 9 deadlifts and 5 push-ups. During the video she said she was hoping for something heavy in Week 3—and she got it.
