On Episode 171 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed Butcher’s Lab coach Frederik Aegidius and CrossFit Clitheroe owner Anthony Cross. Jeff Tucker was also interviewed on the show. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, May 11, 2011.

4:15 Butcher’s Lab is located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Head coach and owner Frederik Aegidius came on the show to talk about programming to incorporate more of a strength component in overall fitness. He also talked about periodization, technique and methods for building a foundation of strength for the CrossFitter.

18:55 CrossFit Clitheroe in Lancashire, England, is about a half an hour’s drive from where the European Regional will be hosted. CrossFit Clitheroe’s owner, Anthony Cross, came on the show to talk about how he’s helping the community attend and participate in the event. He and his athletes have opened their homes for visitors wanting to attend the competition, and he’s planning pre-competition WODs and post-competition team WODs for each day so those attending will still be able to work out and not miss training days.

29:25 Jeff Tucker is HQ’s subject-matter expert on all things gymnastics, and he also owns GSX CrossFit in Fort Worth, Texas. He talked about his part in the Life As Rx’d tour coming up and explained that CrossFitters will be able to compete for free. Jeff also described his soon-to-be-released new book, and he gave his perspective on the Reebok CrossFit Open and how he’ll prepare his athletes for the upcoming regionals. Jeff ended by looking forward to the Games this summer and some of the things CrossFitters can expect at the Home Depot Center.

I love the CrossFit radio show, but it's so hard to listen to. Please get the sound levels under control! Justin is often quite loud while the guests are quiet and hard to understand. Jeff Tucker in particular seemed to fade out every fourth word. The show is interesting and I want to hear every word!
