Continuing their quest for the top ranks in the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games Open, Jessica Pamanian and Tom Rowland are Patriot CrossFit as they hit Workout 11.5 as part of the NoVa Open.
The fifth Open workout was a grinder: 20 minutes of 5 power cleans, 10 toes-to-bar and 15 wall-balls.
“Oh, God. That was awful,” one early heat athlete said while raising a hand bloodied from toes-to-bar.
“I sit at a desk all day. This makes me feel like a man,” another said while collapsed in a pile of well-earned sweat.
Also in the house to compete was 42-year-old CrossFit Games vet Jeff Tincher, who finished fifth in the 2008 Games in Aromas.
Tom and Jessica attacked the workout alongside Tincher, and when the long triplet was over, Rowland said he “could have done better.” Pamanian managed over 10 rounds despite the fact that wall-ball is something less than her favorite exercise.
All three athletes will be pushing hard to the finish, with only Workout 11.6 left to go.
