CrossFit Radio Episode 176

On Episode 176 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed two regional champions, Michelle Kinney and Patrick Burke. Michelle won the Central East Regional, and Patrick won the Southwest Regional. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, June 15, 2011.

5:55 Michelle Kinney placed 10th at last year’s CrossFit Games, and after winning her regional she will advance to this year’s main event with more confidence than ever. Michelle talked about her experience last weekend at the Central East Regional and described her strategy and preparation for the workouts. She also explained what’s different with her training this year and how she’ll train and eat for the next six weeks leading up to the Games.

36:10 CrossFit Games veteran Patrick Burke is looking to improve upon his seventh-place finish from a year ago. He just won the Southwest Regional and described what it was like to come out on top of a stacked field of competitors. His confidence is high, and he believes he has a great shot at making it onto the podium at the Home Depot Center this year. Burke also talked about his strengths and weaknesses and gave his thoughts on where the sport of fitness might be in five years. Finally, he talked about how companies like Progenex, Rogue and Reebok have helped the sport to grow and helped the athletes as well.
