Join Sevan Matossian as he captures the athletes, judges, spectators and staff, providing a look at what goes on before, during and after the events of the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games.

In Part 6, Matossian catches Tony Blauer of Blauer Tactical Systems and John Hackleman of The Pit hanging out with the athletes.

After Event 6, The Killer Kage, Matt Chan is fired up.

“I needed something to click for me, and that was it,” he says. “It’s just a shame it’s taken me so long to get my damn switch flipped. But I’m ready now, man. Let’s do this. Let’s do tomorrow.”

In the women’s half of the event, Annie Thorisdottir takes the lead again and says she had to make up ground after a disappointing finish in the second skills test. Thorisdottir says that over the past year she has been consciously trying to improve her mental game, especially after a workout.

“I always have positive attitude while I’m doing the workout,” she says. However, she admits, “I’m never completely happy with anything until when I’ve thought really a lot about it.”

She says a key component to her strategy is the support of her coaches.

Announcer and world-champion arm wrestler Travis Bagent says he’s enjoying himself.

“In the guys’ final, I had a little bit of hair standing up on the back of my neck. The energy was just crazy in here,” he says. “I’m learning just like everyone else. I just get a tremendous seat to watch it.”

There should be like a vid of Miranda talking exclusively in that voice to her dogs and random people. Like, 15 minutes.

I don't think Tony was boozing. Tony is usually a lot of fun with a super great sense of humor, and the same goes for John Hackleman. It was a rare and cherrished oppurtunity to have them both in the same shot!
