On Episode 193 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed Dr. Brian Moore, as well as James Hobart, who competed for CrossFit New England as the box won the Affiliate Cup at the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011.

The WOD of the Week was from CrossFit Inferno.

200 double-unders
10-8-6-4-2 reps of above prescription

5:20 Dr. Brian Moore is a physician in Springfield, Ill. He found CrossFit six months ago and described how his life has changed dramatically in a short amount of time. A 47-year-old who trains at Capital City CrossFit, Moore talked about how his body naturally started to desire foods that would enhance performance, and he explained how he’s attained goals he would have thought impossible before starting CrossFit. The changes were so striking that Dr. Moore’s wife started CrossFit. Interestingly, Moore did some research and found out how “burpees” got their name.

23:05 James Hobart helped CrossFit New England win the 2011 Affiliate Cup, and he came on the show to talk about his experience at the Reebok CrossFit Games. Hobart described what it was like to compete on a team with other elite CrossFitters and how the CFNE crew prepared and strategized for the exciting winner-take-all final workout. Hobart also talked about how he found CrossFit, his athletic background, what’s next for his training and what he does in his job at Reebok.

Thanks for allowing me to share my story, and that of our little box out here in the cornfields of central Illinois, with the world-wide CrossFit community.

Your show rocks. Thanks again, you bastard.

Another great and interesting show. Much like Brian I have recently started to regularly listen to your radio shows and find them to always be educational, interesting and entertaining. The guests and subjects that are covered are well done. Also, the openness for suggestions from the community is something that I love that you embrace.

I support Brian's suggestion to occasionally contact the regular Joe or Grinder crossfitter. As much as everyone likes to hear from the superstars, shot callers and box owners of CF the vast majority of CFers are just regular grinders.

Love the shows with Zach Even-Esh and the product reviews!

Keep up the good work!
