CrossFit BC Island in Reykjavik, Iceland, is home to not only Fittest Woman on Earth Annie Thorisdottir but also an affiliate team that competed in the 2011 Reebok CrossFit Games. Find out more about this affiliate at the top of the world and how its athletes commit to their training.

In addition to CrossFit, affiliate team athlete Daoi Hrafn Sveinbjarnarson trains in yoga, bootcamp and gymnastics.

“Not getting stale in one sector I think is good for everybody,” he says. “Get strong and get versatile.”

He says that his team works so well together because its members are close.

“We know each other very well, and we know what needs to be improved and how to improve it,” he says.

Gymnastics is a strong point of the team’s training for core strength, and yoga helps develop flexibility and the ability to relax.

“Everybody has their weakness, and they always show up eventually,” Sveinbjarnarson says. “You do everything to find your weakness and improve them.”

Double-Front! Fun to see Annie's gymnastics background peeking out a bit - I know more people had been wondering about it after the dominating handstand walk performance at the 2011 Games.
