Video Article

Every box has its own personality, and Matt Swift talks a little bit about what makes CrossFit Brisbane special in this video from Down Under.

Listening to Swift, it’s clear that he and his box are very focused.

“My only role as a coach is just to keep reminding people there’s only one important thing and everything else is distraction … . My job as a coach is to make sure that behavior matches the goal, because I can only change one or the other.”

For athletes and coaches, Swift says it’s important to figure out what the goal is and then make sure all actions support that goal. And every once in a while, it’s a good idea to review the goal to see if you’re moving in the right direction.

If you’re always focused on the goal, you have a pretty good chance of accomplishing it.

Well spoken as usual Matt Swift!!

I had the brief pleasure of meeting Matt the Friday before a CF Level 1 at CFX in Sydney in 2009 than again on my Level 1 several months later. Living in Wollongong, NSW for a year I had visited CFX for a day and Matt and Steve drove me back to the train station, rather than walking the 30 mins - his humility, wisdom and leadership were evident in that short drive to the train as each are in these videos.

Keep up the good work!
