On Episode 240 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed James Hobson from CrossFit Addiction, as well as Brad Woodhouse of WOD Tours. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012.
The Words of Wisdom are from an article titled Training for Fat Loss by Calvin Sun, found on the CrossFit Invictus website. In the article, Sun addresses common misconceptions such as “Weights will make me bulky,” “Marathon runners are skinny so shouldn’t I run to become skinny?” and so on.
7:55 James Hobson of CrossFit Addiction started the Atlanta Affiliate League two years ago with 16 teams competing in various events. The league exploded, and he frequently has to turn teams away. Hobson came on the show to talk about how the league has grown, why the idea has taken off, and how he’s overcome various growing pains. Hobson shared some of the lessons he’s learned from the experience and also ideas he’s borrowed from CrossFit HQ after watching the Regionals. Finally, Hobson talked about what’s next for the Atlanta Affiliate League.

Woodhouse came on the show and explained how they thought up the idea, and he described their most popular tour where they start in San Francisco with Kelly Starrett and Carl Paoli, then end up in Southern California with Mike Burgener. Woodhouse described some of the other tours they’ve done and plan on doing in the future, and he detailed some of the feedback he’s received from participants.
