Gary Roberts is back.

In this episode of Killing the Fat Man—called “Embracing It Forever”—Roberts is finishing his Level 1 seminar in Oahu, Hawaii.

“It taught me there’s still a freakin’ whole world of stuff I need to learn and master and practice,” he says of the seminar.

Then he adds: “I think I’m gonna do a muscle-up right now.”

To the cheers of many in attendance, Roberts finally nails his first muscle-up after a few tries.

“CrossFit, for me, has been a journey, a complete journey, an awakening. In the beginning, you don’t know what you don’t know,” he says. “Mentally, I’m in such a different place.”

The experience has been life changing, Roberts continues.

“CrossFit enabled me to tap into this part of myself that … I didn’t even know existed, and if you told me it did exist, I wouldn’t have believed you,” he says. “I’m in such a different place. I feel like down to the core of my cellular being has been altered somehow. … I’ve been searching for this my whole life.”

Dude, Gary, so glad you are back!!! Loved this series.

The transformation is amazing. You've got veins in your neck, visible muscles in your arms. But these things are secondary to the confidence you now exude. Even though you are fit on the outside, you obviously now feel fit on the inside. Way to convey what CrossFit across the lifespan is about!

I have been showing people your videos on my facebook often because people can see that it is possible to make progress as you have. True inspiration.

"We took out the trash!" Best quote to describe your journey. You gotta take the trash out. Is going to be a new quote when talking to people about diet and exercise.

Gary,

You sir are a total inspiration and a bad ass. I watched your other videos via Youtube and as soon as I got through episode 6 I got a journal membership and bought a rogue package for my garage and installed some weight racks. More than motivating me I should thank you for motivation my wife. She was even more excited this morning to see your new video up than I was, makes me wonder if I should be jealous, she is now in the gym with me 4-5 days a week and is making some real progress she looks better than ever and thinks it is funny when my time slows because I am too busy checking her out and focusing on the the WOD. If she hits a wall or gets down on her self I remind her that it is up the individual to make the change for themselves and we put up on our white board, “What Would Gary Do?” I don’t want to drag this out much longer I just wanted to let you know that you have really helped make a difference to me and as far as I am concerned there are 4 people that made me want to do Crossfit,

1. Jason Kahlipa
2. Chris Spealler
3. Gary Roberts
4. Miranda Oldroyd

Thanks,
Matt A.

Love the series but was hoping for a little more of life after Level 1 certification. This entry would be better labeled Episode 10b. Gary, thanks again for letting the cameras into your life because it's helped me to change mine.

Gary,

You and your story a TRULY AMAZING! I really hope this series continues! As far as I'm concerned you're as much a part of Crossfit as Rich Froning. I have a question regarding my own personal struggles, what is your nutrition like? I would love to see an episodes dedicated to that! Keep it up G!
