When Hurricane Sandy made landfall Oct. 29 in New Jersey, it wreaked havoc. The Category 1 storm was 932 miles in diameter and packed winds of up to 100 miles per hour, making it the worst Northeast storm in 100 years.
Mark Nagy, owner of Blackhearts CrossFit in New Jersey, knows these facts well.
In Part 1 of this series, the affiliate owner talks about the state of his gym. About a week after the storm, the space is used for one to two workouts per day with limited equipment.
“People lost everything,” Nagy says. “So I’m pretty thankful that it wasn’t worse. I can only imagine what they’re going through.”
