By Justin Judkins

Audio Article

On Episode 268 of CrossFit Radio, host Justin Judkins interviewed CrossFit Mitchelton owner Lily Cosgrove and Josh Everett. This episode was webcast live at 6 p.m. PDT on Wednesday, March 20, 2013.

3:12 Australian Lily Cosgrove is a former lawyer who is now a member of CrossFit’s Level 1 Seminar Staff and co-owner, with her husband, of CrossFit Mitchelton. She talked about how the CrossFit Games Open is going Down Under and described how her affiliate has joined two others to host the weekly workout in an event they call Friday Night Lights. Cosgrove had a baby about six months ago and explained how she did CrossFit right through her pregnancy.

28:26 Josh Everett has stood on the CrossFit Games podium in 2007 and 2008 and explained what his goals are in the 2012 Open. Everett talked about how the level of competition has increased dramatically since the early days of the Games, and he broke down Event 13.3, which gave athletes a chance to beat their results from last year. The veteran offered advice to anyone thinking about redoing Open workouts before talking about how his training has changed as he’s gotten older and accepted increased family and career responsibilities.

Justin:

emailed months ago re: no new podcasts on iTunes since late 2012. said you would look into it. still no recent episodes. much easier to go through iTunes if listening via mobile. would definitely increase people listening to show. hope this issue can be resolved!

thanks!

FYI...the podcasts are showing on iTunes but they won't download. I have to come here for each new episode and download it.

If you search right now in the itunes store for Crossfit Radio you will not find it. It stopped working in itunes somewhere around November 2012. I was a subscriber and it just stopped downloading episodes after that. I tried dropping the podcast and re-subscribing and it didn't work. Now, as I said above, it's not even listed in itunes.

If it's not going to be available through itunes, please let us know. I enjoyed the show but I'm not going to download invidual MP3s outside of itunes unless there is some way to get them on my phone. Until its fixed i'll just have to continue to enjoy Barbell Shrugged like Mikael.

The tech gurus at HQ have told me iTunes is finicky at times. They are aware of the problem will get it fixed but for some reason it seems to only work intermittently. I will get the problem fixed this week. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi Justin, thanks for checking this thread and replying. People may be more likely to stick with their podcast system than go to the effort of reworking it just for one podcast. If you can get your tech experts to fix it, that'd be great.
I use stitcher radio on my iPhone. It may link to itunes, because it hasn't picked up any new episodes since december last year.
Your podcast is great Justin, and it's really worth keeping it accessible for your listeners. All very well that iTunes is finicky at times, but it's also finicky for tens of thousands of other podcasters, the vast majority of whom are less resourced and less in demand than you are.
Techs to take 5 Months to fix podcasting finickiness seems unusual at best, at worst, it's taking listeners for granted and doing a poor job of representing the fantastic, people-centered organisation that is crossfit.

Like Eric and Mikael, I'll probably just listen to barbellshrugged until then.

I would love to have this issue with iTunes resolved. I thought I was nuts, and drug my laptop to work for help from my IT department. I'm caught up with the Paleo Solution, and I really like to mix up my podcasts, but only really can listen on my commute.
